My first sample is with A Year of Flowers 2. If you've been a long follower of my blog, you know how much I've always loved the original A Year of Flowers and I'm crazy in love with the whimsical style Melanie used to draw these. I also used two other new release stamp sets on this car, All Occasion Tags (sentiment) and Lots of Dots (we will showcase this set later this week). Step by step photos below.
Next up we have another wonderful follow up set, All Occasion Tags 2. This is one of those wonderful sets that can be used alone for a quick and easy card, or you can combine it with almost any set. I love the beautiful frames and lovely fonts that can be used for almost any style or occasion.
On this card, I stamped the frame on Pure Luxury Ivory card stock, using Memento Rich Cocoa ink, then stamped the sentiment with Memento Rhubarb Stalk. I used a R20 Copic marker to color in the outside section, then cut out the frame. Using Spellbinders™ Labels Four die template, I cut another piece of ivory card stock, then sponged with Memento Cantaloupe and Angel Pink to make a peach background. On the ivory card base, I stamped the branch, from Whimsical Spring, using Memento Rich Cocoa, then embellished with Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms Flowers, cut from Pure Luxury Just Peachy and Innocent Pink card stock.

To begin my flower card, I stamped the image, from A Year of Flowers 2, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
It is hard to see in the photo, but next I masked off the first flower, using an image I had stamped on scratch paper and cut out. I held it in place with reposition-able tape, then I stamped the second flower, slightly overlapping the first.
I removed the mask, then stamped the stems.
Then stamped the leaves.
To color, I began with Y17 on the stamens.
Then started with YR07 on the main part of the flowers.
Then added YR04.
Added YR02. For the next step, I missed snapping the photo, but to finish the petals, I filled in with Y21.
For the leaves and stems I used YG95.
Then filled in with YG03.
Next, I sponged around the edges using Gina K Fresh Asparagus ink.
Using a BV000 Copic marker, I made drop shadow around the flowers.
I cut a piece of base weight Ivory to form a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ inch card base, then stamped circles and dots, from Lots of Dots, using Gina K Fresh Asparagus ink.
I layered the flower panel with Pure Luxury Fresh Asparagus card stock. The birthday sentiment, from All Occasion Tags 2, was stamped on ivory card stock, then cut using Spellbinders Standard Circles, and sponged with GKD Fresh Asparagus ink while still in the die template.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are having a wonderful day!
