To make my project, I began by painting the outside lid and box using Antique White craft paint.
Next, sponge the edges of the box with brown ink.
Cut a piece of pattern paper, slightly smaller than the box lid, then distress the edges by sponging brown ink.
For a little more distressing, spritz the pattern paper with green glimmer mist, then adhere it to the box lid.
Next, use the Fancy Lattice die template to cut dark brown card stock, then use a paper trimmer to cut four strips to decorate the sides of the lid.
Cut more pieces using Fancy Lattice using tan card stock. I sponged a bit of toffee ink to add some distressing. These will be for the box sides.
Adhere the pieces of lattice to the top and sides as shown.
Cut ivory card stock using the number 4 Labels Twenty-six die and sponge green ink while still in the die template. Cut a second piece using the number 2 die template and sponge the same way.
For my second project, I made a Thank You card. This time, instead of cutting out the Fancy Lattice, I embossed it and created a popped up Labels Twenty-six frame to accent the focal image. I love how versatile Spellbinders die templates are and all the creative techniques to try with them!

ReplyDeleteBoth of your projects are just stunning Theresa. I love your work. You are an inspiration to us all!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, tfs. How do you glue down the lattice?
ReplyDelete@ bluemoonbynite -
ReplyDeleteHi. Thank you for your comment. I used my Xyron Mega Runner on the backside. I placed the lattice on scratch paper before applying the adhesive, then lifted it up after. Some of the adhesive leaves strings in the lattice openings, so I just rubbed those ares to lift the glue. One option would be to use a Xyron machine on the card stock, with a backing on it, then cut with the Fancy Lattice. Then you could peel the protective backing off.
Happy stamping!
