Hello! Today I have a tag to share with you. I used it to adorn a small wedding gift.
Before I get started, Naneruth asked a question about what kind of tips I used on my Copic markers. All but one or two of my Copics are sketch markers, and I almost always use the brush tip. I really like the versatility of the brush tip because you can lay down a lot of color, yet still have a nice fine tip for smaller areas.
I also wanted to let you all know that I plan to take next week off from blogging projects. I have a lot of DT projects to work on and it became clear I need to set aside creating for the blog for a few days to be sure I get everything completed in time.
Here is a close up of the tag.
I used GKD Pure Luxury Pearl card stock, cut with the large tag die template from Spellbinders™ Tags and Flags Shapeabilities®. Then I sponged one of the new Memento colors, Love Letter. Since the pearl card stock is coated, it resists ink somewhat. I wanted a pink background, so the dark Love Letter ink came out a very nice pink on this card stock.
I cute another piece of Pearl card stock with a Lacy Circles die template and again sponged Memento Love Letter.
I cut some Pure Luxury Innocent Pink card stock with Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms and sponged more Love Letter. This time, I just used the residual ink on my sponge dauber so the sponging wouldn't get too dark.
Starting with the outside of the spiral, I used a piercing tool to begin rolling the flower. You could use a narrow dowel or bamboo skewer to start the flower. After it was partially rolled, I slid it off the piercing tool and finished rolling.
After rolling, there is a small circle tab at the very end. I adhered a small self adhesive pearl to the center of the circle, then added some Zip Dry adhesive to secure the base to the rolled flower. I'd rolled my flower quite tight, so I let it loosen up a bit to let the center open up. The little pearl fit nicely into the center of the flower and I just pressed the circle tab onto the base of the flower and held it a few moments to secure.
After the glue was dry, I folded back some of the outer petals to open up the flowers bit.
Here are a number of flower I made for this project (there were a few extras), made using Pure Luxury White, Innocent Pink and some designer paper. I used the two largest die templates from the Bitty Blossoms set to make all these.
And here you can see how I layered my tag. I added a few shapes from Spellbinders Jewel Fantasies, cut using more Pearl card stock. The sentiment is stamped on white, using Memento Grey Flannel.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend!
What a fantastic tag. It looks so vintage, feminine and elegant all at once. Am loving the new Memento colors you are sharing with us! The flowers are sublime. Thank you for sharing so much with us, Theresa!!! (looking forward to whatever you do at StampTV, too! I know you are beyond busy-take that week off from blog land) Hugs, Rosy
ReplyDeleteYour tag is absolutely stunning, Theresa. The new color is beautiful, and perfect for a wedding gift. Someone will be very lucky to get this beauty! Enjoy your week away, my friend. We will miss you, and may even experience a bit of withdrawal, but we'll be here when you get back! Hugs...and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog a couple of weeks ago and I'm working my way backwards through all your projects. You are a truly talanted person and I am so grateful for all the inspiration that you've given me. My wallet on the other hand is not as happy as I am. I NEEEEEED to by some Memento pads - not to mention all of the superb stamps you have designed. A special thank you for all the tips on how to use each and every stamp.
Lots and lots of love is coming your way from Sweden and from - a soon considerably much poorer, but still very happy - Ulrika
Gorgeous, really like those Jewel Fantasies elements!
