Hello! It's Gina's birthday today and the GKD Design Team are hopping to wish her a very happy birthday. Gina is such a gem to work for and I am so lucky to be a part of this team.
Happy Birthday, Gina!!!
If you'd like to see the birthday cards the rest of the team has created, hop on over and take a look. Rumor has it that several of the designers have blog candy up for grabs, so keep an eye out!
Here is a peek at the inside of my card. I used images from my newest stamp set, Whimsical Spring.
I stamped the bird on a branch image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Copics, beginning with B26.
Added B24.
Added B23.
Then filled in with B02.
On the leaves, I started with YG23.
Added YG25.
Then I added shading to the leaves with BV11 and used E52 to color the beak.
For the berries, I started wit R89.
Added R27.
Filled in with R22.
For the branch, I used E25 and E27.
I stamped the image on scratch paper and cut it out for a mask. I adhered it with re-positionable tape, then cut the card stock with rectangle Nestabilities.
I sponged over the masked image with Memento Cantaloupe ink.
Sponged Memento Angel Pink.
Sponged Memento Grape Jelly.
Then sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.
I removed the mask and die and added a drop shadow with BV11.
I layered with Pure Luxury Grass Green, cut out with Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities. The card base is Pure Luxury Creme De Menthe and scored using my Scor-Pal. I cut a piece of Pure Luxury White with a Spellbinders Lacey Circles die and sponged with Bamboo Leaves while it was still in the die. Then I stamped the sentiment (from The Giving Tree). I adhered the layers to the card base with Pop Dots.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
