Where the Love Is

Hello! Today I have a card using Melanie's new set, Where Your Heart Is. You have an opportunity to win this set (two chances, actually). Operation Write Home is featuring Where Your Heart Is on their blog, Stars and Stamps and giving you a chance to win just by leaving a comment, And you have a second chance to win by commenting on Melanie's blog.

Operation Write Home is an amazing organization dedicated to supporting our military personnel and their families, by sending cards to troops to write home on, and writing to heroes. If you want to join in to support our troops, click here. You'll see some links over on the right side of the page, where you can learn how to join in.

I also wanted to let you know that my new set, Dino-mite, and all the new release stamp sets, are now available at Gina K Designs.

To make my hand card, I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used Copics to color, starting with E57.

I added E33.

Then filled in with E53. I came back with my blender pen to highlight some areas, then re-applied the E53. I repeated that a few times until I was happy with the blending and highlights. After coloring, I cut out the hand image.

I cut a few hearts, using my heart shaped Nestabilities, then sponged with Memento Desert Sand while still in the die. After sponging I embossed the hearts with my Cuttlebug Paisley embossing folder.

I tore a strip of vellum and embossed it with my Swiss Dots CB folder, then attached it to a layer of Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown, using brads. I layered the hearts and hands using Pop Dots and added a sentiment, from Hearts, by heat embossing with white embossing powder. The card base is Pure Luxury Tan Leather.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
