Tree of Hearts

Happy Friday! It's time for another color challenge at StampTV and here is my card for it. I used my new set, The Giving Tree. This set, along with all the new Gina K stamp sets, are now available. I want to give a shout out to my talented guest designer for this month, Lori McAree. Lori just got her stamp set late yesterday afternoon and put together a fabulous sample in time for the release party last night. You can see it on her blog here.

This week's color challenge is Bubblegum Pink, Chocolate Brown and Ivory.
(Edited to add... I'm such a dork. It's supposed to be Innocent Pink. There it is right there in the graphic. If somebody finds my brain, can you return it to me, asap?)

To start, I cut an oval using Nestabilities. Then I sponged Memento Desert Sand ink along the bottom, using my Jumbo Sponge Daubers.

Then I sponged Memento Angel Pink, starting from the other side and kept going until I met up with the Desert Sand on the bottom..

I sponged Memento Rose Bud ink over the Angel Pink, but just around the edges.

Then I sponged Memento Rich Cocoa on the bottom.

Stamped the tree using Memento Rich Cocoa.

Then I stamped the little heart cluster using Memento Rose Bud ink.

I cut a rectangle piece of Ivory and sponged the edges only with Memento Angel Pink. After sponging, I embossed with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

I layered with Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown and used an Ivory card base. I used Big Scalloped Oval Nestabilities to cut the layer under the oval. The sentiment is from Square Pegs. I stamped it on Ivory, with Chocolate Brown ink and added the hearts using Rose Bud. I used more oval Nestabilities to cut layers for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

  1. Love this set and your heart tree is darling! The clusters of hearts in green, would look like shamrocks so one could modify it for St. Patrick's Day, too! :)
