Hello! Here is a mostly monochromatic card I made using the butterfly from Hope Grows. I also pulled out my dusty Copic Airbrush to create the background.
To start, I sponged the background with Memento Cantaloupe.
Then sponged Memento Tangelo.
Next, I placed my Spellbinders Butterflies Impressabilities template to mask the background, then I airbrushed with YR04.
I used Copics to color the butterfly, starting with YR07.
Added Y17.
Added Y21.
Filled in with YR000. After coloring, I cut out the image.
Next, I cut a circle using Nestabilities, trimmed an edge, then sponged with Memento Cantaloupe ink.
Since I had trimmed away the antanea from the butterfly, I stamped it on the circle so they would show when I added the cut out version. I filled it in with Y17 so there wouldn't be any bright white spots showing under the cut out butterfly. Then I added some shadows with W1 and W3.
I layered with Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown and used a Pumpkin Spice cardbase. The sentiment is also from Hope Grows.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteStunning Creation..I am always inspired when I visit your blog :)
ReplyDeleteWOW..Beautiful stunning card. Loved the sponging and airbrush technique. But do you feel like you end up using lot of ink when you airbrush such a large area? Also does the copic ink on the Impressabilities mess them up?
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all your step by step photos, I really use them a lot.
This is so stunning. The colours are so vibrant and your choice of butterfly is perfect. Thanks for your tutorial. It's always so interesting to see how others create. Very informative.
