Hey there! I'm back with CAS card again. I used Melanie's Gifts From the Sea to make this pretty pink confection.
Here is a close up of the shells.
To start, I stamped the starfish with Versa Mark ink, then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Sorry, the clear stamping doesn't show well in the photos. You can click on the photos to make them larger, for a better view.
I cut a mask from scratch paper and adhered if over the clear image using re-positionable tape. Then I stamped the conch with Versa Mark and heat embossed it with clear.
Cut a mask for the conch and adhered it with re-positionable tape, then stamped the scallop with Versa Mark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
I used Post-it Notes to mask off a border, then sponged with Memento Angel Pink ink. The clear embossed image resists the ink.
Sponged Memento Rose Bud.
After removing the border, I decided the top needed sponging too, so I placed the Post-it on top and sponged some Angel Pink.
I colored the images with Copics, starting with RV23 on the scallop.
Added RV21.
Then added YR000.
Decided the color shadows needed to be deeper, so I added RV25 to the darkest areas, then also added to the conch.
Added RV23 to the conch.
Added RV21.
Filled in with YR000.
Same process for the starfish. Started with RV25.
Added RV23.
Added RV21.
Filled in with YR000.
After coloring in the images, I added some shadows underneath with C1 and C3. I layered with Pure Luxury Bubblegum Pink and used a white card base. The sentiment is also from Gifts From the Sea and stamped with Memento Rose Bud.
Thanks for visiting. I hope your day is filled with smiles and sunshine!

ReplyDeleteHi Theresa! This is such a sweet, soft card. Love the pinks! Thanks for another awesome tutorial :)
ReplyDeleteLove the card. So I'm I seeing correctly you color the paper and not on top of the embossing? Or do you color across it all and wipe off the markers from the embossing?
ReplyDeleteTheresa, this is gorgeous. Love the pinks and elegance of it!!
ReplyDeleteTheresa - I love anything with shells (living near the beach has that effect on me). I love pink. I LOVE this card. It's fantastic...thanks for sharing and showing your technique to add the color - it shimmers...
