I used the cute crab for my card. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Copics, starting with R89 where I wanted the deepest color.
Blended out from there with R27.
Blended out from there with R24.
Then filled in most of the way with R22. After adding R22, I used my blender pen to smooth out the highlights (not pictured).
For the seaweed, I colored all over with YG03, then added some shadows with YG99. As you can see, I didn't bother to stay in the lines, since I planned to cut out my images.
Blended with YG91.
I used Post-it Notes to mask off the top section. I cut in a graceful curve, put it in place and then sponged Memento Desert Sand ink.
I added some texture with the sand stamp from Melanie's Gifts From the Sea stamp set, stamped with London Fog ink.
I turned my mask around and sponged Memento Summer Sky.
Sponged Memento Danube Blue.
I love to use the vine from Cammie's Whimsical Autumn as seaweed whenever I'm doing underwater scenes. I stamped it with Danube Blue, stamped off once, several times, then with London Fog.
Stamped the vine a few more times after removing the mask, with Memento Pear Tart.
A little tip I've shared before... I like to use all of my Pop Dots (I know a lot of you do, too), so I always make use of the remainder after using up the dots. Cutting the edges in thin strips is a great way to pop up images that have long narrow parts, like flower stems, or in this case the seaweed I colored earlier.
Here is the finished card with the images all popped up with Pop Dots. I used the mini dots for the seaweed, but on the crab, I used the thicker 1/2 inch Pop Dots on the head and claws, then mini's on the rest of the body. It's hard to see in the photo, but in person, using the larger dots on part of the image really increases the dimension in the card. If you don't have the thicker 1/2 inch dots, you can always double up your mini pop dots to add more depth.
I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and used Ocean Mist for the card base.
