Happy Daffodils

Hiya, stampers! Did you see that several of the Gina K Designs illustrators are sponsoring Card Positioning Systems this week? If you play along, you'll have a chance to win a stamp set from Asela Hopkins, Melanie Muenchinger, Tami Mayberry or my new set, Sending Sunshine. I used the challenge sketch for my card above.

I stamped the daffodils from Sending Sunshine, with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics, starting with YR04 in the deepest parts of the flowers.

Added Y17.

Added Y21.

Filled in with Y000

For the foliage, I started with YG93 all over.

Added YG95 for shading.

Blended the YG95 in with the YG93. After coloring, I cut out the flowers.

For the background, I cut a rectangle with Nestabilities and sponged with Memento Summer Sky ink while it was still in the die.

Stamped the sentiment with Tuxedo Black and the butterflies with Summer Sky. Then I stamped the silhouette lavender with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink.

I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and Sweet Corn. I added the ribbon, then the cut out daffodils, using Pop Dots.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your day is filled with smiles!

  9. I always stop breathing for a second when I see your cards. Really and truly! What do you use to cut out the daffodils so crisp? Craft knife or what? One of these days, I hope to create and color like you!
