I used this beautiful little butterfly, stamped several times, colored with Copics and cut out. The sentiment is also from the new set. I cut the oval with Nestabilities and sponged while still in the die. I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and White (sponged with Memento inks). The card base is a brand new Pure Luxury color, called Baby Boy Blue. Love this new color!
Next is a fabulous new set from Tami Mayberry, called Fairy Tales. You are going to love the whimsical images in this set!
I used stamped the flower three times, colored with Copics and cut out the flower and leaves. I added Doodlebug glitter to the centers of the flowers. The background was sponged, then stamped with the three flowers. Then I popped up the cut out images, using Pop Dots.
I layered with Pure Luxury Passionate Pink and used another new PL color, Bubblegum Pink, for my cardbase and tied my bow with White Organdy Ribbon.
The next set is one I illustrated, called Sending Sunshine. This set is a medley of spring images that can be used as focal images, or for scene building.

StampTV is celebrating it's first birthday and the festivities are in full swing with this month's release! We'll be holding this month's Release Party on StampTV and couldn't be more excited about all that Gina has planned for everyone! The party kicks off this Thursday, March 18th starting at 7pm and ends at 10pm (all times CST) when all the new products will be available for purchase in Gina's online store.
To keep informed of all the party plans and activities, check out this link:
To make the daffodil card, I stamped the image, from Sending Sunshine, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Copic markers. I started with Y17 where I wanted the deepest color.
Blended out from the previous color with Y21, then colored a little around the edges of the petals.
Filled in with Y000 then added just a bit more shading with Y17.
For the foliage, I filled in completely with YG07, then used YG93 to add some shading. I used my blender pen to push some highlights back in.
After coloring, I used my oval Nestabilities die to to trace an oval around the image using a pencil, letting the image over-lap the oval in a few places.
Then I cut around the oval, being careful to cut around the image wherever it extended past the oval. Next, I used B00 to add some gentle shading along the outside edges of the image.
For the background panel, I sponged some Memento New Sprout.
Then sponged some Memento Bamboo Leaves. After sponging, I embossed with my Swiss Dots CB folder.
I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and used a Pure Luxury Lemon Drop card base.
Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow to preview two more wonderful new stamp sets. Have a great day!}

ReplyDeleteI love, love your new set, Theresa. I am having so much fun coloring your images. These cards, as usual, are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHello Theresa,
ReplyDeleteThat blue card is the nicest card I've seen in a long long time (and I look at LOTS of cards!), I especially love the combination of the sponged blue and the brown, doesn't it work well! I saw that you said you used memento ink to sponge it. Could you tell me if you used bahama blue or summer sky on that new baby blue cs--I was leaning towards bahama blue, and would like to order whatever you've used with some of that new baby blue in my next Gina K order, but wanted to make sure I got it right. Sorry to bother you at all about it.
SUCH a beautiful card, I hope you won't mind if I case it at some point. Loved as well your coloring of those butterflies, what a terrific stamp set! You come out with sets I just can't resist at Gina K, yikes! Between Gina K and Flourishes, I'm getting spoiled though, such great quality of stamps, I just love them!
Thanks in advance for answering my question, I always appreciate your coloring tutorials too. I just got some copics, now I need to actually play with them. I just watched Gina's latest Stamp TV coloring tutorial, it was so helpful too, and I can see that working well with prismas and gamsol too, something I've worked with a bit more, but really am beginning with that too--I do enjoy it though.
Blessings,
Joanne
Hi Joanne. I didn't take notes as I made that one, so I am not positive, but I believe I used Summer Sky on Pure Luxury White for the larger background layer. For the oval layer I used Summer Sky on White, and then I think I may have sponged very lightly with some Vivid Inky Blue to make it just a little darker and grayer.
