Peachy Daisies

Hiya, stampers! I played along with the SCS Featured Stamper challenge this morning. The featured stamper this week is JovialJudy. What a fabulous gallery. I chose this card for my inspiration. Participants were to change at least two things. I changed...

Different stamps
Changed layout
Added a bow

I used the daisy stamp from Purrr-fectly Delightful and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I used Copic markers to color the images, starting with YR07 on the petals. I filled each petal in completely.

Then I used my blender pen to push color away from the centers of the petals, creating my highlights. Usually, I would just use a few different colors to get this effect, but I thought it would be nice to show an example of how much color variation you can get with just one marker and the blender pen. After using the blender pen, I went back with YR07 to make some of the shadows darker. Then I colored the other flowers the same way.

For the centers, I used Y17, then my blender pen to add some highlights.

For the stems, I used YG05 all over, then added YG93 along the left sides, to create some shading.

For the top panel, I cut a piece of Pure Luxury Ivory with my rectangle Nestabilities, then sponged with Memento Tangelo ink, while still in the die. I wanted very light sponging, so I didn't actually ink up my Jumbo Sponge Dauber, instead just using the residual ink that was left on the sponge from the last time I used it.

For the larger background panel, I cut a Piece of Ivory cardstock then placed Post-it Notes on the lower half as a mask. Then I stamped the branch from Picture It! (part of the current StampTV kit), using Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Removed the mask and placed the lower portion in my Paisley CB folder, then ran it through my Cuttlebug to emboss.

I stamped the butterflies from Purrr-fectly Delightful with Memento Tangelo. I layered with SU Apricot Appeal and used Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Ivory for my card base.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

I'm "thinking" about investing in Copic Markers.
*deep breath* They are pricey! But the more
I look at them the more I want them.. you know
    what THAT means!
