Get Well Soon!

Hello! My card today features Square Pegs, Melanie Muenchinger's latest stamp set. One of the things I love about this set, is you can make a card for nearly any occasion. I don't have many Get Well cards in my stash, so I used the cute bowl of soup image, paired with the "get well" sentiment. Actually, the way I cut my set, these are one stamp. Melanie designed it so you can leave them together, or cut them apart depending on how you are going to use them. I tend to err of the side of leaving them together in cases like these, thinking that I can always separate them late if I choose. I have some step by step photos below, but for now...

Now, it's your turn! Please hop over to Gina's blog to add the direct link to your blog post showcasing Melanie's Square Pegs Stamp set in the Mister Linkey Box. Gina will have a special prize for the one link that she chooses out of all the participating bloggers - so check out her blog for that information.

I started by cutting an oval from Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock, using my oval Nestabilities. Then I sponged Memento Desert Sand, while it was still in the die.

Sponged Memento Rich Cocoa.

I stamped the image, then colored with Copics, starting with YR14.

Added YR12.

Filled in with Y21, then used my blender pen to add some highlights back in.

I used E31 and E51 for the soup, then used E31 to darken the shadows on the bowl.

I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx, Ivory and Basic Grey Origins DP. The card base is Pure Luxury Fresh Asparagus. The ribbon is from the new StampTV Kit, Organize It! and the border punch is by EK Success.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful day!
