Feel the Magic

Hi! Today I am sharing a fun Halloween Kit Kat bar treat holder using a new stamp set, Feel the Magic. This set is illustrated by the talented Alicia K, daughter of Gina K.

I love the cute witch in this set. She is perched on a little mushroom, but you can cut out the image without the mushroom and have her riding the broomstick, like I did here. You could also leave the mushroom un-inked if you don't like cutting out images. When she is on the broom like this, she totally reminds me of the cartoon Samantha from Bewitched, during the opening credits.

Joining us tonight with special projects made with AliciaK's Feel the Magic Stamp set are these Designers:

Gina
Asela
Carolyn
Donna
Emily
Erika

Jessica

Melanie

Here are the details for my project...

For the purple parts of her dress (I just did the sleeves to start) I used Vo6 Copic marker along the edges.

Added V04, working in tiny circles.

Filled in with V01 and used my blender pen to highlight.

For the the hat I started with N7 along the edges.

Added N5.

Then added N3.

Added C3. Then I filled in with C1 (not pictured).

I finished the other purple and grey parts to her dress in the same way and then used YG05, Y13 and my blender pen on the bow.

For her eyes, I used B21, B24 and my blender pen. I tried to keep a small part uncolored for the reflection, but I wound up blending over my uncolored part, so I added a small dot in the eyes with my Sakura White Gel pen.

For her face and legs, I started with E57 in the shadows. (you can click on the photo to see it larger)

Added E53.

Filled in with E51.

I used Y23 on her hair.

To make the Kit Kat candy bar holder, I printed out a template I made on green cardstock, then cut it out. I scored on all the lines, then folded the sides as shown. This template is available on the Freebies Page at StampTV.

Adhered the front flap to the sides using a strong tape.

I used my oval Nestabilities to make the background layers to place the witch on. I sponged the top layer with Apricot Appeal ink while still in the die, then added the additional layers.

After placing the witch assembly on the top flap, I added the pumpkin from the set, also layered using my Nestabilities. I used Pop Dots to addhere the pumpkin and positioned it in the corner, so that the top flap could tuck under it.

I used a circle punch to cut away part of the flap that tucks under, to make it easier to open and close.

Here you can see how it looked after cutting the semi-circle away.

Here you can see it with the Kit Kat bar most of the way inside. I cut a small piece of cardstock to go inside, under the flap and stamped it with the pumpkin and sentiment, leaving a small area to add a personalized message.

This is such an adorable Halloween stamp set, just perfect teens and tweens. I can't wait to pair it up with Gina's Spooky Silhouettes stamp set.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day

  14. Hi! I love the card! I am going to try but I really want to get those pens/markers, where would I find them?

  15. Hi, they are Copic markers. I get mine from Oozak.com, but there are a ton of online sources if you google them.

  16. I love this card!! Great job! I am having an issue with the template it is coming out much smaller than it seems on the finished product. What size should the template actually be?

  17. The finished size is about 5 wide by 3 high. If you just enlarge it so the main part is about 5 inches wide, it should fit. Good luck!
