Timeless Treasures

For my project tonight, I pull our some old photos that have desperately been in need of scrapping. The images in this set are perfect for scrapbooking old family heritage photos. I used several of the images to create a vintage panel, which I overlapped with my two photos. I'll add some journaling to the panel I created later, but I need to consult with my dad to get a few facts straight first.

The lady on the left in the bottom photo is my great-grandmother on my paternal grandmother's side. She was already very old when I was a child and I only ever saw her sitting down, with my grandmother usually standing beside her. Because of the contrast between them, one sitting and one standing, it always seemed to us as kids that my grandmother was very large and great-grandmother very small. So that is what we called them, Little Grandma and Big Grandma. Little Grandma was born in 1896 and lived for 96 years. I wish I had been old enough to understand what a wealth of history she had lived to see before we lost her.

I started with a piece of Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock and place a Tim Holtz mini mask in the corner before sponging with Creamy Caramel ink.

I removed the mask and then sponged a little more Creamy Caramel, then some Chocolate Chip ink.

I stamped some of the images from Timeless Treasures with Creamy Caramel and the sentiment with black.

I stamped the cameo twice, once with Memento black and once with Versa Mark before embossing with Ranger Superfine gold embossing powder. On the one I stamped in black, I did some subtle coloring with my Copic markers, W1, R20 and my blender pen. Then I cut out the center from that image. On the embossed image, I used Y23 to color the frame and then adhered the center. I also applied a layer of Crystal Lacquer over the surface.

I used the same process to make the pocket watch as I did for the cameo. Layers were Pure Luxury Ivory and Chocolate Kiss from Gina K. I also added some corner accents using my EK Success curved corner punch.

Have a great day!

  14. Theresa - where does one begin - there are not enough adjectives in the dictionary OR thesaurus to begin to do justice not only to YOUR fabulous scrapbook page but also to everyone of them I saw on the hop. SO I guess I'll sum it all up by saying
    smashing
    stunning
    exquisite
    beautiful
    gorgeous
    fabulous
    awesome
    fantastic projects by all!

Ok I guess you get the idea - and boy - does talent ever run in your family! It was great to see work by your mom and sistah! Wish my creative mom were still here to stamp with me - she'd be great at this too. Rock on girl - keep bringing the stamp sets - you have certainly proved yourself as an artist extraordinaire!

  15. Hi Theresa,
I love the new set you have designed; Timeless Treasures. It brought back timeless treasured memories of my childhood. My father worked for the railroad for 40 years and like his father and many of their family they all wore pocket watches everyday. They wore them of course to keep track of the train schedules. As a chld I was always fascinated with these pocket watches. Thanks for taking me back to a good memory, for designing such a wonderful set, for all the beautiful work you do to inspire us every week and of course for the chance to win this wonderful new stamp set.
