Elegant Post

Hello! Tonight Nina Bracket is having a special blog hop featuring her new stamp set, Elegant Post. This truly is an elegant stamp set with this gorgeous post and several different "hanging" elements that it can be combined with.

And now a bit about my card...

I stamped the post with black Stazon and then quickly heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I also wanted to show you how I cut a notch in the lamp stamp to act as a guide for lining up the stamp. I'm too lazy to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig if I don't have to.

Here you can see how easy it was to line the stamp up just right. I placed it so that the notch was just covering the first little circle on the post and that was perfect spacing. If you get a little too much space, you can easily draw in another little circle to fill the gap.

I used Copics to color the lamp, Y21, Y23 and Y17.

For the metal, I used N3, N5, N7 and my colorless blender. Then I went over the image with my Versa Mark pen before heat embossing with clear embossing powder.

Next I sponged my background, starting with So Saffron ink.

Sponged around the yellow with Pretty in Pink.

Then sponged with Almost Amethyst.

Sponged with Lavender Lace ink.

Sponged with Perfect Plum ink

Then a bit of very light sponging with black.

Stamped some of the leafy stems from Tropical Flowers with Going Gray ink.

Stamped again, this time with Memento Black.

Then I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and White on a Lavender Lace cardbase. Usually I do a A2 size card (4 1/4 by 5 1/2), but this card fits a 3 5/8 by 6 1/2 inch envelope. I added brads on the left corners. The die cuts on the right were made using Cuttlebug Vintage dies, that were a RAK from Emily. Thanks, Emily!!!
