Good morning! It's Sunday and that means it is my third week as the Limelight Designer at Flourishes. Hop on over for a look at another Flourishes project and if you missed last week (I forgot to blog about it), you can find it here.
My card today is for the Botanical Challenge at the Copic Creations Blog. I used the Siberian Iris set from Flourishes to make my card.
Here are the details...
I started by coloring the deepest parts of the flower with my Y17 Copic marker.
I blended out from there in small circles, using Y11.
Next, I went over all the petals with B41, going right up to where the pale yellow stopped. I used my palest yellow and palest blue and was able to get a pretty seamless transition.
Then I added B24 to the outer edges of the petals.
Used BV13 to blend in from the dark blue, working in small circles.
Then I added BV11 working in from the BV13.
Finally, I added V12, working nearly to the yellow, and finished by using my blender pen on the lightest areas to add just a bit more dimension.
On the leaves and stem, I used YG03 and YG05.
Then added YG95 for some shadows.
I cut the rectangular panel using Nestabilities, then sponged Ballet Blue around the edges.
Then sponged Lavender Lace. After sponging, I used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder to dry emboss the dots.
I layered with Pure Luxury Black card stock and digital papers from Jersey Shore (free at StampTV) and used a Bashful Blue (SU) card base. The sentiment is from Sweet Violets, and was cut out using my SU Word Window punch.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Absolutely gorgeous, Theresa.
