A Wee Congrats

Good morning! It's Wednesday and that means new episodes on stampTV! This week Gina shows two ways to use wax paper to create some gorgeous backgrounds. There is also a new technique challenge with a chance to win free stamps.

My card today is for the color challenge that Cindy issued on Monday (another chance to win stamps!), to use Eggplant, Baja Breeze and Kraft. I used Melanie's new Wee Tee's set to create this card that could be sent to new parents or for a baby shower.

I started by stamping the onsie and butterfly with Memento ink. Then I used Copics (BG10, BG02, BG05, BG07 and E51) to color the butterfly.

To color the main body of the onsie, I started with BV17 around the edges.

Added BV13, in small circles.

Added V06 and went over everything I had colored to help the blue violets blend with the violets.

Added V15.

Added V04 working my way in to the center.

Kept going with V12, still working in small circles.

Finished with V01. After coloring the body, I went back and did the rest of the onsie using the same colors. Then I used BG05 on the piping. I also added some black dots to show the path of the butterfly, hoping to give it a whimsical feel.

After coloring, I cut out the image and placed it on an oval that I sponged with Bashful Blue and Tempting Turquoise inks. That was backed with a black scallop and kraft ovals, all cut with Nestabilities.

The paper in the background is digital paper from Gina K, called Springtime in Paris. I backed that with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and a cardbase of Elegant Eggplant. The sentiment is from Tag Lines that I cut out with my Stampin' Up word window punch.

Today I am taking Pebbles to the groomer. Not her favorite place, but the heat is on and she needs a trim (and don't get me started on how she smells, LOL). I thought I would share a before photo with you. Tomorrow I'll post the after photo.

BTW, she is a party mix Cocker Spaniel, if anyone is curious. I had to hold a tennis ball up with one hand to get her to pose so nicely.

Have a happy Wednesday!
