Good morning and Happy Friday! Today is Cathy Tidwell's last week as my guest designer. What a talented designer she is! Thank you Cat for helping my showcase my first set. You can see Cat's most recent creation using Out West on her blog here.
For my card, I decided to play along with the Pot Luck Friday Challenge at stampTV. The challenge, issued by Joanne, is to limit all your card stock to scrap pieces. You can cut a new card base, but everything else has to come from scraps. No problemo! I'm swimming in scraps. Aren't we all?
I started by stamping the saddle with Memento black in and then colored it with Copic markers. I started with E57 and went along the edges.
Added E35 and blended out from the E57 in small circles.
Added E33 and blended out a little more.
Finished with E31 in the lighter areas. Then I went back with E57 to darken a few areas.
For the inside of the saddle, I used Y23 and E31.
I used a small scrap of Leather cardstock from the Paper Temptress and sponged with Bashful Blue, Going Gray and Not Quite Navy.
For the oval piece, I cut a piece of Pure Luxury white with my oval Nestabilities, then stamped the sentiment and sponged with Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip.
For the blue and brown ovals, I cut them with the same size Nestablities and then trimmed around the blue piece to make it slightly smaller than the brown.
I layered my card using Baja Breeze (Stampin' Up in color), Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss, Metallic Cappacino paper from the Paper Temptress and a small piece of Rough and Rugged digital paper from Gina K Designs. There is also a small piece of the new Nautical Netting ribbon from Gina K, tucked in there.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope your weekend is fabulous!
cute cute card ... love your coloring as always!
ReplyDeleteHow very very cute and so lovely too~
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures showing how to color. I just went to my first Copic class and I loved it and bought about 10 markers. I need about more classes and discounts. I am new to Stamp TV and it is fantastic. I a love learning everything I can about my new interest "stamping and card making." That is how I came to your blog. Thanks for the lessons on your blog and thanks for the comment on my card.
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic Theresa!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! Love your sponging and the layers!
ReplyDeleteTheresa, this is awesome. I love how you allowed the saddle to hang over the sentiment piece. And as always your coloring and sponging are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I love the sentiment! Very beautiful colors and Nautical ribbon really looks nice here!

Drop dead gorgeous - I'm ready to try the saddle but I don't have all the same colors so I don't know how it will turn out but I'll give it a shot - thanks for showing us the way.
