Blue Tulip

I made this card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge this week. The challenge is to use piercing on your project. I had been wanting to try this tulip, from Thank You Tulips, in blue and finally got around to it.

Here are a few of the details...

I colored the image with Copic markers, B04, B23, B26, B21, B02 and B00. That is a lot of colors, I know. I don't use my blues very often and was experitimenting.

The stem and leaves were colored with YG05 and YG93.

Next I went over the image with my Versa Mark pen and heat embossed it with clear. I did this because I intended to do embosse resist and sponge the background. Well, my background didn't come of very pretty, so I wound up cutting the image out.

Here is my new background. I sponged with So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst and Lavender Lace. Then I inked up the background stamp from Thank You Tulips with Basic Gray ink and stamped off once on scratch paper, then stamped onto my background.

I layer with Pure Luxury Black Onyx, then a piece of patterned paper from Die Cuts With a View. I sponged the edges of the patterned paper with Ballet Blue ink. The pattern isn't showing well in the photo, but there are horizontal bands of blue. That was backed with more Black Onxy and the cardbase is Lavender Lace.

Remember my card from yesterday, that I entered in the MFT Idol Judges contest? Well, it moved on and now it is entered in a poll on SCS with the nine other projects that were chosen. There are some really impressive and creative projects. If you want to see them all and vote for your favorite, you can find the poll here along with links to all the projects.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your day is filled with fun and stamping!
