Birthday Wishes In the Air

Hello! Today, I am sharing a card I made using a stamp set from Unity, called Love in the Air, illustrated by Lisa Hetrick.

Check out the new Unity packaging for their un-mounted stamp sets. I love that it is eco-friendly. It is made with post consumer recycled paper and can be recycled. It looks nice, too!

I stamped the image with Memento ink and colored it with Copic markers. I think I must have used about half of my Copics on this one image. You can click on the photo to make it larger if you want to see the numbers on the pen caps.

I wanted to do some sponging, so I embossed the image with clear embossing powder to protect it from the sponging. I first went over the entire image with my Versa Mark pen, then I heat embossed with clear.

I used Bashful Blue and Tempting Turquoise to sponge the sky and Certainly Celery with Old Olive to do the foreground.

That little swirly branch thingy is a rub-on from Stampin' Up. This was the first time I have used rub-ons and I guess I should read the instructions before I try new products. I removed the entire backing sheet, instead of cutting out the part I wanted and then removing just that small portion. I got some "accidental" rub-on action. LOL.

Oh well, live and learn. I covered up my mistakes with the oval sentiment on the left and the hinge on the right. Shhh, don't tell anyone there are mistakes under there.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your day is mistake free!
