Butterfly Origami Box

The Try a New Technique challenge at SCS today was to make an origami box. Here is a link to the thread for this challenge. You can find a PDF file for download with instructions on the box, and instructions to make the lid in the first post.

I made the top panel using my new Martha Stewart Lace Edge Punch. I have been seeing this done with scallop edge punches and wanted to try it.

First I cut my cardstock to 3 1/4 square, then made a pencil line bisecting each side.

Then I inserted it in the punch, lining up the center line on the punch with the center lines I had drawn. I punched once, then rotated, punching the next side. I did that for all four sides.

Here is what it looked like when finished.

The butterfly is from Take Flight and colored with Copic markers and cut out and resting on the top layer of Very Vanilla. Below that is Pretty in Pink, sponged with Regal Rose. Then another Very Vanilla layer, followed by Close to Cocoa. The designer paper is retired from Stampin' Up.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a fantastic day!!!
