When I was putting this card together, I kept trying to add ribbon and other embellies, but nothing seemed right. So I am leaving it plain for now. I bought this tree stamp from Unity Stamp Co during Hip Hop Thursday two weeks ago and have been dying to ink it up.
Each week Unity has a big party at the forums at SCS and Angela, the owner of Unity, takes some stamps out of their kits to be sold as singles for one day only. This tree is from a set called Growing in Unity.
There are also a lot of opportunities to win free stamps during Hip Hop Thursday, so if you have some time pop over to the Unity Forums on SCS and join the party. It starts at 10am central time.
I stamped the tree with black Stazon and the embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next I sponged the background with Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, Not Quite Navy and a tiny bit of Basic Black ink starting with the lightest in the center and going darker and more saturated toward the edges.
There is a layer of Basic Black card stock behind the image layer and it sits on a card base of Bashful Blue. The card base turned out very washed out in the photo (sorry, taking pics at night again). I added some sticky blue gems randomly on the tree for just a bit of bling.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
Please leave it as it is - it is truly breathtaking!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely as is! I wouldn't change a thing.

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! The shadows from the rhinestones look like you drew the shadows. Once again, beautiful sponging.
ReplyDeleteI think this gorgeous tree may be the stamp that finally gets me to invest in some unity stamps ... I really love your card.
