Royal Flowers

This is blog candy I won from Joanne at Mainly Flowers. These are handmade flowers using Nestabilities and small ball embossing tool. She has a great tutorial on how to make them along with several other great flower tutorials.

Joanne creates the most amazing cards. Please go visit her blog if you want to see something truly special. The flowers she sent me are stunning, much nicer than anything you could buy in the store. The picture does not do them justice.

Isn't the little box she decorated cute? I have placed it on the shelf that sits right in front of me, so they are handy. Of course, I am a hoarder, so I will use them sparingly. Now I just need to get to work making something that is worthy of them.

It is so cool getting something in the mail from the UK. When you pull it out of the mailbox, the first thing you notice is a great big stamped, "Royal Mail." I felt like I should curtsy or something, but the neighbors already think I am a bit loony.

Here is the card I made to send to Joanne. I used the flower from Embrace Life, the large stamp from Baroque Motifs and the greeting from Artfully Asian (all from Stampin' Up). The flower is colored with water color pencils and clear embossed. The Baroque stamped image was also clear embossed.

I did a fair bit of sponging on the Baroque layer, the scallop square and the horizontal Groovy Guava layer, using Purely Pomegranate ink. The card base is made form Blush Blossom card stock.

Thank you, Joanne for these lovely flowers. I absolutely love them! The return address on the package you sent seems a bit incomplete, but maybe that is because I am not familiar with UK addresses. Hopefully you will get the card, but if not, please accept my very sincere thanks.

My blog candy giveaway is still going on, so if anyone is interested in winning a Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder, please scroll down and enter.
