Here is the card I made for Beate's weekend sketch. I got to do something new this time. The sketch is of a square card and I have never done a square card before. I made the base 5-1/2 by 5-1/2 so I could use a standard 8-1/2 by 11 sheet of card stock.
In my ongoing effort to justify purchasing my new Cuttlebug, I used the D'vine Swirls embossing folder on the Close to Cocoa background. I wanted to try something new, so after I embossed it, I ran it over my Chocolate Chip ink pad to highlight the raised areas. I like the effect, but it came out a bit sloppy.
The other papers I used in this card are Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Close to Cocoa designer paper. I used Purely Pomegranate ink for the sentiment and Chocolate Chip sponge on the Very Vanilla. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Sincere Salutations.
Lovely card! Thanks for playing.

Love the technique used with ink pad over raised image. I think I might try that one!
