Simple Flowers Tutorial

Here is another tutorial for a card you've already seen. This one features images from Simple Flowers. This was a super quick and easy card to make.

To begin, I stamped the flower medallion using VersaMark ink, on Pure Luxury White cardstock. Then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Using Spellbinders® Circle Nestabilities, I cut it out, then sponged Gina K Sweet Corn ink, while still in the die template.

Then sponged Gina K Sweet Mango ink, working in from the edges, so that the center stayed yellow.

Then sponged with Gina K Cherry Red, just around the outer edge.

I formed a 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch card base, then  stamped the sentiment using Gina K Black Onyx ink and the zig zag border image using Gina K Sweet Mango.

Stamped the zig zag over the top edge three more times, again with Sweet Mango.

Then I adhered the flower medallion, using 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives, on the card base, and added a small gem to the center of the flower.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Bold Blossoms Tutorial

Hello! I have several tutorials I need to get uploaded from the Gina K release last week, so I'm sure you'll recognize this card featuring Bold Blossoms.

To start my card, I stamped the flower, from Bold Blossoms, twice off the edges of the card stock, using VersaMark ink. Then I heat embossed using Clear Ranger Fine Embossing Powder.

Then, using Memento Grape Jelly ink, I sponged over the flowers, with my Jumbo Sponge Dauber.

I stamped the flower on scratch paper, twice, and cut them out for masks. Then, with the masks in place, I sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.

I stamped the leaf a few times with Memento Bamboo Leaves. They are faint in this photos, but you can click on it to see it larger.

Next I removed the masks and used my V12 and V15 Copic markers to deepen the color at the base of the petals.

Used C1 and C3 to add a shadow around the edges of the flowers.

Using my Scor-Buddy, I added some score lines on opposite corners.

A simple stamped sentiment, from A Little Something, was adhered to the center, with 3D Foam Squares. I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and used a Pure Luxury Ocean Mist card base (4 ¼ by 5 ½ inches).

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Gina K Inspiration Blog Hop Day 4

Hi there! It's the fourth and final day of Gina K blog hops for our May release and tonight we are featuring Debbie Corbari's Darling Divas and the new Free With Free set, A Little Something. Debbie has come up with three more fabulous Divas this month. I used images from the Green Thumb Diva to make my card. (step by step photos below)

And this is my A Little Something card. This stamp set is free with the purchase of three full stamp sets.  I paper pieced the vase and used Copic markers to color and shade. I love the sweet images in this set!

To make my card, I started by cutting and embossing white cardstock using Spellbinders™ A2 Matting Basics A. Then I stamped the flower pot with Gina K Black Onyx and the watering can with Gina K Bubblegum Pink. The water droplets were stamped with Gina K Turquoise Sea.

I used my Y17 Copic to color in the centers of the flowers.

For the leaves on the flowers I used YG25 and for the petals, I think I used RV17. Sorry I must have forgotten to click the photo for that step.

For the flower pot I used E97.

Then some deeper shading on the pot with E15.

Used a sticky note to mask the top section at the bottom of the flower pot, then sponged Gina K Fresh Asparagus ink.

Then used my E35 Copic to shade a bit just below the pot.

I removed the mask and sponged Gina K Powder Blue around the edges of the die template.

I layered with Pure Luxury Grass Green, cut using Spellbinders A2 Locking Loops. I used a white card base (4 ¼ by 5 ½ inches) and added some Color Companion buttons to embellish.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Next up is Beth's Weather or Not. The images in this set are so adorable! I love the boot and decided to paper piece two, to make a pair. I do have step out photos for this card and will post the tutorial next week. It was so fun to make!

To make my nautilus card, I started by cutting and embossing white card stock using Spellbinders™ A2 Matting Basics A. Then I stamped the nautilus shell rich cocoa ink. I used a mask to keep just a tiny portion of the shell from stamping, so that later I could try to make it look like the shell was really in the sand, not just floating above it.

To color, I started with my E53 Copic marker.

 Then blended out with E00.

I wanted a little more contrast, so I added E35.

I stamped the nautilus shell on a piece of scratch paper and cut it out, then attached it, using re-positionable tape, to mask.

Then I began sponging using Memento Desert Sand ink for the sand.

I cut a curve into a sticky note to mask the bottom of the sand and sponged just a tiny bit more to make a ripple in the sand.

Then, from the top, I began sponging Memento Summer Sky.

Sponged Memento Bahama Blue.

Then I removed the mask and used a W3 Copic marker to add a shadow beneath the shell and also to give a bit more depth to the sand ripple.

I deepened the shadow under the shell with W5.

Then used C3 to create the edge of the water.

And C1 to soften that water edge.

With my opaque white gel pen, I added some ripples to the water.

Then, with my Desert Sand, London Fog and Toffee Crunch Memento Markers, I added a bunch of tiny dots to give texture to the sand.

The sentiment was stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa and the card base is Pure Luxury Kraft (5 ½ by 4 ¼ inches).

Thanks for visiting. We have one more day of inspiration coming tomorrow, so be sure to stop by. Have a wonderful day!

My first card uses some fabulous images from Stamp It Big 2, along with Pretty Patterns 2. You can see step by step photos for this card below.

Next is a card featuring images from Simple Flowers. I love all the fun flowers and elements in Simple Flowers. I love these sweet images! I'll be posting a quick tutorial on how to make this card next week.

To make my Stamp It Big 2 card, I started by stamping one end of the banner, twice, on white card stock, using Gina K Black Onyx.

I used image from Pretty Patterns to create backgrounds for the banners, stating with Gina K Sweet Corn ink on one of the banners.

Then stamped another pattern, on the other banner, using Gina K Sweet Mango.

On the orange banner, I added some small accents using Gina K Cherry Red.

And a few more using Gina K Sweet Corn.

Back to the yellow banner, I added some smaller pieces using Gina K ink. After both banners were stamped, I cut them out.

On a plain white card base, I stamped the "big" Hello, then gave it a drop shadow using my YR07 Copic marker.

I adhered the banners to the card base, then added another "big" image, the arrow. The arrow was Gina K Black Onyx ink, stamped directly onto Sweet Corn card stock, then cut out.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a wonderful day!
