Gina K October Inspiration Blog Hop Day 3

Hello! It's our third day of blog hopping and today the Gina K Designs Team are featuring two more wonderful sets. First up is the new Stamp TV Kit, Merry Little Christmas. I adore the happy snowman I used from the kit. This kit has two stamp sets included, Merry Little Christmas and City of David, 24 sheets of Pure Luxury card stock, ribbon, brads and exclusive patterned paper. More about my card below.

Next up is the new Free With Three stamp set, Holiday Tags, which is free when you order three stamp sets! The images in this set are perfectly sized to making holiday tags. I made a little snowman tag, which I then adhered to a card, embellishing with Spellbinders 2012 Snowflake Pendants and a sponged background. I added glitter with my Quickie Glue Pen and iridescent glitter.

Be sure to follow the links below for more inspiration using the new stamp sets. And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops.

For the Merry Little Christmas card, I started by forming a 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch card base, using Pure Luxury Kraft card stock. I also cut scratch paper to 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inches and used a die template from Spellbinders Matting Basics A to cut out the center.

I placed my scratch paper mask over the card base and secured with re-positionable tape. Then I cut a wavy line in a sticky note to mask the top of the opening. I sponged Stazon Opaque White ink along the wavy cut line.

I moved the mask and sponged again.

Moved the mask again and more sponging.

Then I removed the sticky note and sponged a bit all around the edges of my frame mask. After sponging, I removed the mask.

To create the raised embossing on the front, I turned the card base over to the inside and carefully positioned a larger die template, from Matting Basics A, and secured it with painters tape. Then I embossed, using my Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur® Machine.

Turning the card base back over, I stamped the snowman image with Memento Espresso Truffle. To make the snowbanks stand out a bit more, I used a BV00 Copic marker to add some shading along the edges of the masked snowbanks. I also added some BV00 along the edge of the snowman.

To make the outer edge of the masked framed area, I used BV00 again to draw a fine line all the way around the rectangle. I used my Stardust Glitter Pen to add some shimmer to the snowbanks, although it doesn't really show in the photos.

Next, I stamped the snowflake again, this time on white card stock and added some shading with E53.

Then used E51 to blend the shading into the white. After coloring, I cut out the image.

Then I adhered the snowman to the card base. I used an opaque white gel pen to make the stamped snowflakes white, then added more dots for even more flakes. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your day is fantastic!

Gina K October Release Inspiration Hop Day 2

Hello! Today the GKD Design Team are sharing projects made with three more of our October Release stamp sets. First up is Tami Mayberry's fabulous new set, Simple Snowflakes. I love the wonderful images in this set. So perfect for winter or holiday cards! More details about this card below.

Next up is Mistletoe Memories, a fantastic new set from Becky Oehlers.  I love how you can build up the mistletoe as full as you want with the different leaf clusters Becky designed. So fun! I'll show you how I made this card with step by step photos next week.

Next up is Beth Sailaka's new stamp set, Deck the Halls. All the wonderful ornaments in this set are so beautiful and elegant! I stamped the ornaments with Memento Bamboo Leaves and Love Letter. Then I used Copic markers to add a touch of shading. I stamped the ornament hanger parts with Versa Mark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. The ornaments were cut out and popped up with Pop Dots.

Be sure to check out all the wonderful projects from the rest of the team. And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops.

To make the Simple Snowflakes card, I began by stamping the snowflakes on white card stock, using Versa Mark ink. Then I sprinkled clear embossing powder on the snowflakes and heat embossed the images.

Before I stamped, I rubbed my embossing buddy on the card stock to help prevent stray bits of embossing powder from sticking where I didn't want it.

Next I sponged Memento Summer Sky ink. The embossed images resist the ink.

Then I sponged Memento Danube Blue ink.

I stamped more snowflakes, using Memento Danube Blue ink.

I cut and embossed a snowflake from Spellbinders™2012 Snowflake Pendant, then sponged Memento Danube Blue very lightly.

I stamped the large snowflake using Memento Nautical Blue.

The snowflake was adhered with Pop Dots. I added self adhesive gems and a silver twine bow. I layered with Pure Luxury In the Navy on a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ inch white card base.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic day!

Gina K Inspiration Hop Day One

Hello! Today the Gina K Design Team are blog hopping to share ideas using the new stamp sets from our October release. Today we are featuring two sets, Vogue Vases 2 and Stately Flowers 5. My first card uses images from Vogue Vases 2, a stamp set I illustrated as a follow up to the original Vogue Vases. More details about this card below.

Next up is my card using Stately Flowers 5. This is the fifth in a series of stamp sets illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger, showcasing the official flower of each state. The images in all these sets are stunning! I love this sunflower. I'll post the step by step photos for this card later this week.

Be sure to check out the samples from the rest of the team!

To begin, I sponged Memento Summer Sky ink on Pure Luxury White card stock.

Then I sponged Memento Danube Blue ink.

Sponged Memento Paris Dusk ink.

I stamped the branch using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Then stamped another image, using Memento Paris Dusk ink, but stamped off on scratch paper before stamping on my scene, to make the image lighter.

I colored in the flowers using V04 Copic marker.

Then I stamped the vase on Parisian Garden pattern paper, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Then colored in the vase using BV13.

And added shading with BV17. After coloring, I cut out the vase.

I adhered the vase to the background using Pop Dots. Then I layered with Pure Luxury In The Navy, Vibrant Purple and White. The 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch card base is Little Boy Blue. I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and adhered using Pop Dots.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your day is fantastic!
