GKD Blast From the Past Day 4

It's day four of the Gina K Blast From the Past blog hop and today we are featuring past sets from the very talented Carolyn King and Asela Hopkins. I just love Carolyn's adorable Warm Winter Wishes stamp set. I used the friendly snowman to get started on my Christmas tags. (Step by step photos below)

Next is another tag, this time featuring Asela's fabulous Christmas Blessings stamp set. I used the beautiful poinsettia and and added Crystal Lacquer on each of the flowers to gave it some shine.

For even more samples of some of our favorite 'Blast from the Past' GinaK Designs stamp sets, check out these participating designer's blogs:
The entire GinaK Designs team would like to invite you to the virtual Release party we'll be having tomorrow night Thursday, August 5th on StampTV.  It will be a bit different than our usual release party, but we'll still have challenges, contest questions, and designer samples that you won't want to miss out on!

To make my snowman tag, I stamped the image, from Warm Winter Wishes, and colored with Copics, starting with R89 around the outside edge of the heart.

Colored over the R89, using R27 and blended out from there.

Did the same with R24.

Filled in most of the way with R22 and then used my blender pen to smooth out the highlights.

I stamped the word "Joy," also from Warm Winter Wishes, and then started coloring the hat with N7.

Added N5 to the hat.

Added N3.

Filled in with N1.

For the shading on the snowman, I started with C3.

Then added C1.

Used G05 and R46 for the scarf and holly sprig.

I cut out the tag and used a Post-It Note to mask the bottom, then sponged Memento Summer Sky.

Sponged Memento Danube Blue.

I moved the mask and sponged in some snow drifts, just using the leftover ink on my sponge dauber

Here is what it looked like after adding the snow drifts.

I stamped the trees, from Holiday Cheer, using Memento Paris Dusk. Then I added the cut out snowman and the "to/from" from First Christmas. I layered with Pure Luxury In The Nave and Baby Boy Blue.

Are you making enough tags to share with me. If not, since I will be seeing you next week-end you better get on it. I love all the stuff you do.
