Stampin Up Christmas Card Tutorial

Hi, I made this card using the Stampin Up "Season of Joy" set and "Itty Bitty Backgrounds," that I borrowed from my sister. I started by stamping the tree using a medium green ink on white paper.
Next I cut out the tree.

Then I mounted the tree on red paper using a tape runner.

Next I cut that out, leaving a thin border all around.

I prepared the background by first sponging lightly on white paper with light blue ink and then using two of the Itty Bitty Background stamps.
For the greeting, I stamped on a small piece of white paper, prepared the same way as the background. I then mounted it on red and then green paper.

Next I attached the tree and greeting to the background using pop dots to give it a bit of dimension. Then I mounted the whole thing on a blank green card.

More Xmas Card Pics

These are from when I got together with my mom and sister a few weeks ago. I promised to post them later that day or the next and forgot. I didn't even realize I had forgotten until I was reading over past posts. Sorry about that.

I have a good excuse though. We were getting ready to leave on a trip to Las Vegas so I was a bit preoccupied with planning for that.

We had a fabulous time in Las Vegas. I hadn't been there since I was a teenager and my husband and daughter never had been. Wow, has it changed.

We saw Stomp Out Loud, (a newer version of the original Stomp), Mama Mia (featuring hits from Abba) and Tournement of the Kings (jousting dinner show at Excalibur). All the shows were outstanding. We especially loved Stomp. It was just amazing!

Now for the rest of those pictures I promised. Sorry for the delay.

My mom made this card and the one at the top of the post.

This is a criss cross card I made. My sister showed me how. I have made a tutorial for making it on my website here.

Woohoo, My 1st Stampin Up Stamp Set

I am so excited. I got my first Stampin Up stamp set. My sister ordered it for me. She goes to Stampin Up parties pretty regularly and has a lady she orders from.

It was a bit of a surprise to find that you have to mount the stamps yourself, but that's okay by me. I already have to put together and ready to go.

The set I got is called "Frosty." I will try to make some cards using it this week. If I am successful, I'll post them.

My mom and sister got together this past weekend and made cards and ornaments. I will post later about the ornaments, but here are a few of the cards they did...

The two above are from the Stampin Up set, "It's Snow Time"

This one was made using paper punch outs and glitter glue.

Christmas Cards and Puppies

I had a fun past few days. My mom and sister came over and we spent a day making Christmas cards.

It is so much more fun crafting with others. We all had an easier time coming up with Christmas card ideas with each other to bounce ideas off.

I'll try to get a few more pics posted later today or tomorrow.

Yesterday I went with my dad to pick out a new puppy for him. Here is the little guy he chose.

He is named Rowdy and he's just the sweetest thing imaginable. I wanted to keep him for myself.

Good Advice for Ebay Crafters

Net Auction Masters CourseHi, I just read through a book I want to recommend to anyone selling (or planning to sell) crafts on Ebay. It is call Make Your Net Auction Sell and if has a lot of good information on how to set up an auction and how to get good results.

The good news is its free. The bad news is you have to put up with a sales pitch. If you read it, just skip past the forward and go straight to chapter 2 to bypass the sales pitch.

It is a comprehensive guide to selling on Ebay, so great for beginners, but also very helpful for people already selling their crafts on Ebay. I really recommend this book if you are having poor results with your Ebay auctions.

Let me know what you think.

Crazy Christmas Candle Craft

Wow that title is a tongue twister. I was going to call it Crazy Christmas Candle Holder, but I liked all those "C"s.

This is a candle holder I made a few weeks ago. The reason I think its crazy is because its made from clay targets (or are they called clay pigeons?). I remembered doing this as a school project when I was in grade school. I refuse to say how long ago that was.

If you're interested, I wrote up a simple tutorial for it on my website. You can see it here.

I haven't been doing much crafting the last week or two, but I'm hoping to get a few Christmas projects started soon.

Happy crafting!
