By The Sea 2 Sneak Peek and Tutorial

Hello! It's sneak peek time at Gina K Designs and today she is showing little snippets from mine, Melanie's and Beth's new stamp sets, so I made a card to peek a few more images from my new set. It's called By The Sea 2 and is a follow up to one of my most popular sets ever. This and all the new stamp sets will be available from the Gina K online store starting Thursday at 7pm Central.
Here is the snippet Gina is showing on her blog. Be sure to go visit to see snippets from two more sets. And you can see a project by Melanie, on her blog and one by Beth, on her blog.

I started with a piece of Pure Luxury White cardstock, cut to 4 ¼ by 3 ½ inches, then I masked off the bottom with sticky notes and sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Sponged Memento Tangelo ink.

Then I removed the mask and sponged Memento Angel Pink at the top and bottom.

Sponged Memento Lulu Lavender at the top and bottom.

Next, I masked the top, and sponged Memento Grape Jelly.

I removed the mask and stamped the pier silhouette using a brand new Gina K ink color Black Onyx! This new color is such a rich, dark black. I love it! The new black along with 7 other new colors will be available on Thursday.

Next, I added some water ripples using an opaque white gel pen.

Then I used my BV000 Copic marker to add some clouds and rough in a shadow under the pier.

Then used a BV00 Copic to deepen the shading on the clouds and the shadow under the pier.

Then C5 to make the pier shadow just a tad darker right where it meets the water.

I stamped the three seagulls using Memento Espresso Truffle.

Then adhered the scene to a Pure Luxury Smokey Slate card base (4 ¼ by 5 ½ inches). The sentiment is also from By The Sea 2 and is stamped on strip of white, using Gina K Black Onyx ink. I added two brads to embellish.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to tune in to Gina's blog all week for more sneak peeks and details about the release party on Thursday! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Lavender Paradise Tutorial

Hello there! Today I have a card all in lavender. I used my Elegant Florals stamp set, from Gina K Designs. I also used some fab silk ribbon and a beautiful Darcie stick pin, both from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

To start my project, I stamped the Bird of Paradise image with Memento  Tuxedo Black ink.

Began my coloring with a Y17 Copic marker.

Added Y11.

Then added a touch of YR07.

For the other petals, I filled in with BV11.

Added BV13.

Then added BV17.

For the stem, I used YG95.

After coloring, I cut out the flower, then added a bit of sparkle with my Stardust Glitter Pen.

I cut and embossed white card stock using Spellbinders™ Gold Labels Four, then sponged Memento Lulu Lavender while still in the die template.

Then sponged very lightly with Memento Paris Dusk.

Using the largest Gold Labels Four die template, I cut a piece of Gina K Parisian Garden pattern paper, then sponged with Memento Paris Dusk.

I embossed only a piece of Pure Luxury Lovely Lavender card stock, using Spellbinders Fancy Lattice.

The sentiment, also from Elegant Florals, was stamped on white card stock, then cut, embossed and stenciled with a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty-two die template. The layers were all adhered to a white card base, that was embossed with a frame, using Spellbinders 5 X 7 Matting Basics A. I used Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares to pop up the layers and added the silk bow and stick pin to embellish.

Thanks for stopping by. Next week there is a new Gina K Designs stamp release and I'll be sharing a sneak peek of my new set, here on my blog, Monday morning. Have a great weekend!

Hello! Today the Gina K Designs designers are teaming up with CardMaker Magazine to bring you a special blog hop featuring the new Spring Parade StampTV Kit. We'll be showing you a fabulous array of design ideas featuring the Spring Parade kit.

And now a bit about my card...

To begin my card, I cut and embossed Pure Luxury White cardstock, using Spellbinders™A2 Matting Basics A. Then I stamped the flowers, from one of the Spring Parade stamp set, Take Flight, using VersaMark ink. Then I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder.

Then I sponed, using Gina K Ocean Mist ink, while my cardstock was still in the die template.

Next I sponged with Gina K Fresh Asparagus ink.

I stamped some leaves, from the Spring Parade Blossom stamp set, using Gina K Fresh Asparagus ink.

Stamped the dragonfly with Gina K Ocean Mist.

Then I used a Stardust Glitter pen to add some sparkle to the dragonfly.

I cut and embossed some Spring Parade pattern paper, using a larger size of the A2 Matting Basics die templates, at an angle, then sponged around the edges with Gina K Ocean Mist ink.

My card base is Pure Luxury White, which I embossed a frame in with an even larger A2 Matting Basics A die template. I adhered my layers at wonky angles and added a sentiment, popped up with 3D foam squares.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Somewhere Tutorial

Hey there! I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today I have a simple scene card using The Northwoods stamp set.

I started by sponging Memento Cantaloupe ink at the top of my white card stock.

Sponged Memento Tangelo ink.

Then I used torn sticky notes to mask a horizon line and sponged Memento Lulu Lavender ink.

Used another mask, slightly lower and sponged Memento Grape Jelly ink.

Another mask and this time sponged Memento Paris Dusk.

Then I sponged Memento Rose Bud ink over the Paris Dusk.

I used one more torn mask and sponged Memento Espresso Truffle ink.

I stamped the large tree, from The Northwoods, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Then stamped the second largest tree.

And stamped two smaller trees.

I stamped the sentiment near the top, then layered with a piece of Pure Luxury Black Onyx card stock. The card base is Pure Luxury Ivory, which I embossed a frame into, using a Spellbinders™Marvelous Squares die template. The finished card size is 4 ¼ by 4 ¼ inches.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
