Yellow Rose Tutorial

Hello there! Today I have a card made with the rose from Melanie's new Stately Flowers 6 stamp set. The butterfly is from Birds and Blossoms.

I stamped the rose with Memento London Fog, then began coloring with my Y17 Copic marker.

Added Y15.

Added Y11.

Then used my blender pen on the highlighted areas, letting some color bleed in. I went back with the darker colors again to deepen the shading a bit.

For the leaves and stamp I began with YG91.

Then went over it with YG03.

Used my blender pen to soften the highlights, then went back with YG03 again.

Added some additional shading with W3. After coloring I cut out the flower.

I stamped the butterfly, using Memento Espresso Truffle on white card stock and started coloring with YR07.
Added Y17.

Then filled in with Y15. I used W3 on the body.

When I held the flower next to the butterfly, I could see the butterfly was much too dark compared to the flower (which I had stamped with London Fog).

So I used my Memento London Fog and Espresso Truffle markers to go over the lines of the image to make it pop just a bit more.

Using Spellbinders™Decorative Labels 22, I cut and embossed Pure Luxury Ivory card stock, then sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink while still in the die template.

Stamped the butterfly using Espresso Truffle so he would have antennae when I adhered the one I had already colored and cut out. I like to fussy cut, but I draw the line at antennae.

I cut, embossed and stenciled a larger die template, from the Decorative Labels 22 set.

I adhered the images to the die cut, then adhered the layers with Pop Dots. I added a bow, using some pretty Stamp Simply Ribbon and embellished with some Zva self adhesive pearls. The card base is Ivory and finished size is 5 by 5 inches.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!
