Kay Simmons

Deadline to enter for the gift certificate drawing is 5pm Central time on Thursday. November 15, 2012—release party day! AND just in time for someone to do some exciting release party shopping when the new stamps become available at 7pm!

And now a few details about my project…
I made a pizza box style gift box. I started with a piece of 11 by 6 inch Pure Luxury Ivory card stock, then used my Scor-Pal to score at 1, 5, 6 and 10 inches. Just a reminder you can click on photos to see them larger.

I rotated my card stock and scored at 1 and 5 inches.

I used my Cutterbee scissors to trim along the tabs as shown in the photo.

Then folded and creased along the score lines.

Then I used Scor-Tape to adhere the tabs.

To decorate the top of the box, I used Spellbinders™Marvelous Squares to cut and emboss ivory card stock, then I sponged lightly around the edges with Memento Love Letter ink.

Using Versa Mark ink, I heat embossed the poinsettia with gold embossing powder.

Because I knew I wanted to layer the poinsettia, I heat embossed a second image with gold embossing powder. Then I began coloring with my R89 Copic.

Added R29.

Added R24.

Then filled in with R22. After coloring I cut out the poinsettia.

I colored the poinsettia on the Marvelous Squares background to match the first one. Then I filled in the holly leaves with G21. .

Added G03 to shade.

Next, I adhered the cut out poinsettia, rotating it to make it look fuller, and added a self adhesive pearl to the center.

I cut another piece of ivory card stock with the largest of the Marvelous Squares die templates and sponged Memento Love Letter, very lightly while still in the die template.

Next, I cut more ivory card stock with Spellbinders Fancy Lattice expandable patterns die template. After cutting, I trimmed into small strips and sponged very lightly with the same sponge dauber.

The layers were assembled and adhered to the box top, then I adhered the lattice pieces to the sides.
