Lavender Carnation Tutorial

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I have a card I shared at the last GKD release party, but haven't shown it here on my blog yet. It features Melanie's gorgeous new Stately Flowers 4 along with more yummy bling from Zva Creative.

To begin, I stamped the carnation with Memento Espresso Truffle.

I used Copic markers to color, starting with V09.

Added V04.

Then added V01, leaving some highlights uncolored.

I used my blender pen to soften the highlights.

Then I realized I hadn't colored the bottom of the flower or the flower bud on the right. Oops! So I used V04 to color those.

For the stem, I started with G03.

Then I added YG95.

After coloring,  I used C3 to add a shadow around the edges of the image.

I sponged around the edges with Memento Toffee Crunch.

Then stamped the word, "carnation" with Memento Toffee Crunch.

I stamped the sentiment with Memento Espresso Truffle, the used Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Labels Four to cut and emboss. I sponged Memento Toffee Crunch while it was still in the die template.

I layered with Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown card stock and used Lovely Lavender for my card base. Score lines were added to the card base with my Scor-Buddy. I added the pretty Zva Creative lavender bling, then popped up the layered with Pop Dots. The finished card size is 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inches.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
