Treasured Cameo

Hello, stampers! It's Monday, so time for a new sketch challenge at StampTV. I'm also playing along with the Moxie Fab challenge to use a cameo on a project, along with the Featured Stamper Challenge at SCS. This week Sue Walsh (aka Tillymint) is the featured stamper! I used this card by Sue for my inspiration. Participants were to change at least two things.

I changed...
Different colors
Different sketch

I kept...
Same focal image (the cameo is from Timeless Treasures from Gina K Designs)
Used pattern paper

Here is the sketch for the challenge at StampTV this week. As you can see, I rotated the sketch and used a flower/sentiment in place of the red layer. We would love to have you play along!

First I stamped the cameo, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics, starting with E53.

Filled in with E00.

Added W3 for a little extra shading.

For the dress, I filled in with B00 and used B02 to shade.

I filled in the background with YR000.

Added YR02.

Then used a tiny bit of R02.

After coloring, I cut out the center of the cameo. Next, I stamped the cameo a second time, on Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock, using Versa Mark ink, and heat embossed with  Ranger Super Fine gold embossing powder.

I used my E53 copic again to add a bit of shading to the cameo. Then I cut out this cameo and adhered the colored center (previously cut out) to the center.

Next, I cut an ivory oval, using Nestabilities and sponged with Memento Desert Sand and Angle Pink, to create a peachy color.

I wanted the edges just a bit darker, so I used the Jumbo Sponge Dauber that I use for red ink, and sponged around the edge. I didn't add any ink to the dauber, just used what was already on the sponge dauber so that the effect would be subtle.

Here you can see the cameo after I adhered to the versions together. I layered with Pure Luxury Wine With Everything and used an Ivory card base. The pattern paper is from the Kaiser Kraft Gypsy Sisters collection. The sentiment is also from Timeless Treasures. I stamped it on vellum, using Versa Mark and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. The textured layer was sponged the same way as the oval and then embossed using my Cuttlebug Perfectly Paisley embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Elegant Dove

Good morning! It's Friday and that means a new color challenge at StampTV. I pulled out Hope Grows for this card.

This week the colors are Black Onyx, Red Hot and White. We would love to have you play along. One random participant will win a stamp set from Gina K Designs.

I stamped the dove, from Hope Grows, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copic markers, starting with C5.

Added C3.

Then filled in with C1 and used my blender pen to push some highlights back in. After coloring, I cut out the image.

I folded a Pure Luxury White card base and stamped the branch using Vivid Brick red ink.

Cut a circle using Nestabilities and sponged Vivid Cobblestone ink.

I layered the circle with a  Pure Luxury Black Onyx layer, cut using Scallop Circle Nestabilities. The dove was adhered using Pop Dots. I added red gems at the upper left and the sentiment at the lower right.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Hugs & Kisses

Hey there. I have another VSN mini project to share. This challenge was to use entwined images, so my first thought was to grab these cuddly koalas from Melanie's Cuddles and Hugs stamp set.

I stamped the koalas with Memento Tuxedo Black in and colored with Copic markers, starting with N7 where I wanted the deepest shading.

Added N5.

Added N3.

Then I filled in with N1.

I used my blender pen to push in some highlights.

Used N3 and N5 to make some lines for fur. I kept adding lines, then blending them in, and adding more to give it depth. After coloring, I cut out the image.

For the background, I cut an oval from Pure Luxury Sweet Corn card stock, using my Oval Nestabilities. I used a 1 1/4 inch circle, adhered with re-positionable tape, to mask for the sun. Then I sponged Memento Tangelo.

Removed the mask and stamped the leafy branch, from Hope Grows, using Memento Bamboo Leaves.

I layered with Pure Luxury Tan Leather and used a Sweet Corn card base. The sentiment is from Hope Grows.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Heart Pouch

Here is another project I made for VSN this past weekend. The challenge was to use a heart shaped base. I decided to turn mine into a hanging treat pouch. I picked up those cute heart candies to fill it with. Polished those off yesterday...  So much for new year's resolutions. But it's all in the name of art, right? ;)

To make the base, I folded a piece of Pure Luxury Innocent Pink card stock and lined up the fold with one side of my largest heart shaped Nestabilities. Then I sandwiched it between my plates and ran it through my Grand Calibur.

Here is a look with the scrap piece, so you can see where the folded edge was when cutting.

I embossed the base using my Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug folder,  then sponged Memento Angel pink along the edges.

I cut the scallop piece sticking out the side, using rectangle Nestabilities, from a piece of Basic Grey Bittersweet pattern paper.

I tucked the scallop piece along the open side and adhered using Scor-tape, to close the side.

A few little heart shaped brads re-enforced the side. I added a heart shape using more Bittersweet paper and stamped the heart, from Hopeful Hearts, using SU Lady Bug red and cut out. The sentiment is from Sweetest Memories and stamped with SU Real Red ink.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a sweet day!

Rock, Paper, Piece

Happy Monday to you! There is a new sketch challenge at StampTV. I made my card to fit the sketch and a VSN challenge to use paper piecing. There is still a little time to play in the VSN mini challenges from this past weekend and the main event will be in late February.

Here is the STV sketch. We would love to have you play along! One participant will be randomly chosen to win a free stamp set from Gina K Designs.

I used the brontosaurus, from Dino-mite, and stamped him on a piece of pattern paper from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Even when I paper piece, I still have to color. So I added Y17 to the spots.

Used YG97 for shading on the underside.

Added YG95.

Added YG93. I also began to shade the back just a bit.

Added YG91, leaving most of the side un-colored.

Then I used my blender pen to soften the transition from the coloring to the area that wasn't colored.

Used W1 on the toes, R24 on the mouth and BG02 on the eyes.

I stamped the tree, also from Dino-mite, on a piece of Basic Grey Origins pattern paper, using Tuxedo Black ink.

Added just a bit of shading with E57 and my blender pen. After coloring, I cut out the image.

Stamped the tree again, on another piece of BG Origins.

Used YG25 to add some shading to the foliage and then cut out the foliage portion only.

For my background, I cut a rectangle of Pure Luxury White and sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink in the center, and working out from there.

Then I used sticky notes to mask the top and sponged Memento Desert Sand ink.

Sponged Memento Rich Cocoa.

I adhered the tree parts to the background and used E57, W1 and W3 to add a little shading at the base of the tree.

Adhered the dino using Pop Dots and layered with Basic Grey Origins paper and Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
