Holiday Holly

Hiya, Stampers! Wow, Christmas is sneaking up awfully fast. I still have some shopping to do. Today's card is for the latest sketch challenge at StampTV and for the Technique Challenge at Split Coast. Guess what the technique is... Sponging. Can't pass that up, can I? I used images from The Giving Tree and the sentiment is from Mugs and Kisses.

Here is a look at this week's sketch. I hope you'll play along for a random chance to win a Gina K stamp set.

To make my card, I started with the my largest Petite Oval Nestabilities die, to cut a piece of Pure Luxury Ivory card stock. I sponged Memento Desert Sand ink, while still in the die.

Then I sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink, over the Desert Sand, to warm it up a bit.

I stamped the tree, using Memento Rich Cocoa.

I used Memento markers (Cottage Ivy on the leaves and Rhubarb Stalk on the little berries) to ink up the holly leaves stamp, then stamped them at each of the branch tips. I gave it a "huff" just before stamping to be sure the ink was still moist.

I layered with Pure Luxury Cranberry Tart and Fresh Asparagus. For the background layer, I used Ivory, sponged with Desert Sand and Cantaloupe, then I embossed each piece with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great day!
