Faithful Florals

Hello and happy weekend!  You've seen this card already, but I promised to share the step by step photos from a few projects last week and this is the first. I'll share the Halloween Treat Bag tomorrow. All the images from this card are from Tami Mayberry's beautiful new set, Faithful Florals.

For the oval background, I first cut it using Nestabilities, then sponged with Memento Cantaloupe ink while still in the die.

Sponged Memento New Sprout.

Sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.

Then I stamped one of the flower images with Bamboo Leaves, first stamping off on scratch paper once for a lighter image.

I stamped one of the other flower images with Tuxedo Black ink.

Then I stamped the third flower with Bamboo Leaves, three times.

For the rectangle layer, I sponged and did the background stamping the same way, then added the sentiment.

I layered with Pure Luxury White and Black Onyx. The card base is Green Apple.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Theresa as always a stunning card, do you use a particular card stock to work on for your sponging, as I keep trying but cant seem to get the smoothness you do. Thank you for such lovely inspiration

Hi, Corina. I use Gina K Pure Luxury White for most of my sponging. A very smooth cardstock, like Gina's, or SU Whisper Whiter, or Neenah Solar White seem to work best for me. I also like to start with the lightest color. I tap off extra ink at first, on scratch paper and and start with my sponge dauber off the cardstock, then swirl it onto the paper in a circular motion. As the color builds up, then I switch to a darker color.

What a gorgeous card the green colors are so lovely! Can you remind me where you get your sponge daubers so far I have only seen the fingers one and don't much like those. I know you did a post about them and I bookmarked it but am not finding it very easily.

Theresa this is one of the most stunning cards I have seen in a while thanks for sharing and I am itching to do one now - I have to confess I have fallen in love with memento after trying the Adirondack dye pads, and prefer memento now.

Theresa, this is a beautiful card! I love greens, so this one caught my eye right away. The shading is so striking.
My sponging never looks this good,I'll have to practice...using the technique you talked about in your comment on Monday.
Thank you for sharing your techniques with us!
