Gina K Preview - Blessed Is The Season and Versatile Verses

Hello stampers! It's the fourth and final day of previews for Gina K Designs and we have two more wonderful stamp sets to show you today. First up is a wonderful new holiday stamp set called Blessed Is The Season. This is a special StampTV set and Gina will be doing a series of Christmas In July videos featuring it.

I stamped the snowflakes using Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged around the flakes to make them stand out. The sentiment is from Blessed Is The Season, also.

Next up is the new Free With Three set, Versatile Verses. You get this wonderful sentiment set free if you purchase three other stamp sets! It comes with several greetings and verses that fit perfect inside the oval, or you can use the greeting separate from the verse to have one inside and one outside your card.

For even more samples with the stamp sets being previewed today, check out these designer's links:

We'd also like to invite you to attend our Release Party Thursday night starting at 7 pm central on StampTV. There will be challenges, contest questions, and more samples from our designers on all the new stamp sets being released this month. See you then for all the fun!

I used some images from Aloha to accent. I stamped the Plumeria flower and colored with Copics, starting with RV29.

Added RV23.

Added RV21 and used my blender pen to soften the transition to highlights.

For the leaves, I first colored with YG03, added YG95 for shading and then used my blender pen to push in some highlights. After coloring, I cut out the image and then stamped/colored the smaller Plumeria flower the same way.

Next I stamped and colored the coconut drink. I colored the flower the same way as the first one above, then started with YR07 on the little umbrella.

Added Y17.

Then I filled in with Y21 and used YR02 to make some lines to indicate pleats.

Used B02 on the inside of the drink and YR000 on the straw and to add a little shading to the white part of the coconut. On the outside of the coconut, I started with E57 around the edges. .

Added E35.

Filled in with E53.

Used my blender pen to lighten the highlights and used E57 to deepen the shadows.

I stamped the oval, from Versatile Verses and cut it out using my oval Nestabilities (second largest oval from Large Classic Ovals set). Then I sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink while it was still in the die.

I used my YG03 Copic to color in the narrow band around the edge.

Then I stamped the greeting/verse on the oval. I used an acrylic block with guidelines, making it easy to line up the image on the block and then line it up on the oval. If you don't have guidelines on your acrylic blocks, you can make little notches, centered between the greeting and verse, to make it easier to line up the image over the oval when stamping.

To make the background, I sponged Memento Cantaloupe and then embossed with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. Then I sponged over the dots lightly.

I layered with Pure Luxury Sweet Mango cardstock and adhered the cut out images with Pop Dots.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to see you at the party. Have a great day!

Next is the new card kit set from Gina K, called Seeds of Kindness. This set has beautiful plant images, along with coordinating sentiments, and, for a month, it will come with a free card kit! I colored the African Violet with Copics and then cut it out. The designer paper is from the DCWV pack, called Latte.

We'd also like to invite you to attend our Release Party this Thursday, July 1st starting at 7 pm central on StampTV! There will be challenges, contest questions, and more samples from our designers on all the new stamp sets being released this month! We'd love to have you join in on the fun!

To make the background for the Hugs and Prayers card, I first sponged a bit of Memento Cantaloupe ink near the bottom, using my Jumbo Sponge Dauber.

Next, I sponged some Memento Angel Pink around the Cantaloupe (sorry, I didn't get a photo of that step). Then I sponged Memento Summer Sky all around and blending into the pink.

Sponged Memento Danube Blue.

I tore the end from Post-it Notes and used them to mask the top, so I could sponge the foreground with Memento Tuxedo Black.

I stamped the gorgeous silhouette flowers, from Hugs and Prayers, using Tuxedo Black.

The sentiment is also from Hugs and Prayers. Here is a peek at the photo I used as inspiration for this card.

Thanks for coming by. More previews tomorrow and then the release party on Thursday! Have a great day!

Gina K Preview - Pretty As A Peacock and Lawn and Garden

It's day two of previews for Gina K Designs and today we have two new stamp sets to share with you. First up is a wonderful new set from Asela Hopkins, Pretty As A Peacock. I love the gorgeous images in this set and the sentiments are just perfect! (step by step photos below)

Next up, Rupa Shevde designed a beautiful new set, Lawn and Garden. This set will be perfect for summer and fall! Wait until you see all the images. I colored with Copics and then sponged the background. For the lower panel, I embossed using the Spellbinders Impressabilities Butterflies stencil. After embossing with my Cuttlebug, I used it as a stencil and airbrushed using my Copic Airbrush system. I love the look of airbrushing with these stencils.

To make the peacock card, I stamped the image and colored with Copics, starting with BG07.

Added BG02 and used my blender pen to blend into the highlights.

Used B04 and YG03 on the centers of the tail feathers.

Added B00 to the tail.

Used C3 and N5 to add some shadows to the tail feathers.

I used my Stardust Glitter pen to add some sparkle to the feathers.

I used my new Nestabilities Blossom die to cut some Pure Luxury White C/S and sponged Memento Bahama Blue while it was still in the die.

I also cut a rectangle and sponged that the same way.

Stamped the peacock feather lightly around the edges with Bahama blue.

The sentiment is also from Pretty As A Peocock. I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onxy and added a big bow. The peacock was cut out and adhered using Pop Dots.

Thanks for visiting. I'll be back tomorrow with more previews. Have a wonderful day!

Gina K Preview - Aloha, Fun Year Round and Stitches

Hello! Today is the first day of previews for the Gina K Designs release this coming Thursday! We are previewing three news sets today and first up is my new set, called Aloha. I really loved drawing these tropical themed images and couldn't wait to do a tropical sunset using the palm tree and hammock. (step by step photos below)

Next is a super fun new set, from Melanie Muenchinger, called Fun Year Round. When I started this card, I planned to just color in a few circles and layer circles over some of the others, but once I started coloring, I just couldn't stop. I love to color and had so much fun making this card!

I stamped the large background image and colored in almost all the circles, then I used many of the included accessory stamps, included in the set, and stamped in coordinating colors. Then I layered with Pure Luxury Passionate Pink and used a Black Onyx cardbase.

Next up is Tami Mayberry's awesome new set, In Stitches. This set is filled with a variety of sewing machine border stitches that you are going to love! I used the straight stitch border to make this CAS card. These borders are perfect for making quick, elegant cards, simply by stamping horizontally across the cardbase and accenting with a simple silhouette image and sentiment.

To make the background for the tropical card, I sponged Memento Cantaloupe.

Then sponged Memento Angel Pink, above and below the Cantaloupe.

Sponged Memento Desert Sand over the pink.

Sponged in around the edges with Memento Rhubarb Stalk.

Then sponged over the Rhubarb Stalk with Memento Potter's Clay.

Then I used Post-it Notes to mask off the top, and sponged more Potter's Clay along the horizon line.

Used a torn Post-it Note and sponged with Rich Cocoa to make a dune.

Sponged a little Tuxedo Black to shad the corner of the dune.

More torn Post-it Notes to make the water line. I sponged just a tiny bit of Rich Cocoa and Potter's Clay.

Then I stamped the palm tree, twice using Tuxedo Black ink. Since I knew I was adding the hammock, I stamped the first back and to the left a little ways and then stamped the second lower and to the right, to appear closer.

I could have used my Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamped the hammock first, then the palm trees, for perfect spacing, but I am lazy. So I just made sure I got the palm trees "close" to the right distance apart and when I inked up the hammock, I left the either side un-inked. Here you can see that leaving the ends un-inked gave me a little flexibility on the placement of the hammock.

Then I just used a marker to extent the ends of the hammock to the palm trees to finish the look.

I used Copics, N7 and N5 to shade the tree trunks and add a little shading to the plants and palm fronds.

I used the texture stamp, included in the Aloha set, to add some clouds. I inked the image up with Memento Potter's Clay and then filled in with my E53 Copic.

Used E37 and E49 to added shading to the water line and horizon line.

Used E37 and my white gel pen to add some waves to the water.

I layered the card with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and used a Tan Leather card base. Here is the photo I used for inspiration on this card. Someone asked the other day how I come up with my card ideas and I find most from photos I see online. That purple card from Friday was inspired by this photo.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for more previews. Have a great day!
