A Cowboy Card

Hello and happy Sunday! I hope you are all enjoying the weekend. Here is a card I made using three of my previous stamp sets, Out West, Happy Camper and Life is Good. This was for the Featured Stamper challenge this week at SCS. I chose this card to case, by JDmommy.

First I stamped the saddle, from Out West, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I colored with Copics, starting with E49 for the deepest areas.

Added E39.

Added E35.

Filled in with E53.

I used E57, E39 and E49 to color the stirrups and go back over some of the shadows. I used C3 for the metal parts.

The oval was cut from Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock, using Oval Nestabilities, then sponged with Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Then I sponged Desert Sand.

Sponged Memento Rich Cocoa.

I cut another piece of Ivory, then sponged it the same way I did the oval. Then I stamped the mountain scene, from Happy Camper, using Rich Cocoa.

I wanted to keep the background pretty muted, so to color, I started with E35 in the shadows.

Added E53.

I added E51, leaving the mountain tops un-colored. Then I used my blender to to soften the transition of color.

For the trees, I just added a bit of YG91.

The saddle was cut out and raised up, using Pop Dots. I used Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss to layer and used Tan Leather for the cardbase. The faux barbed wire is an idea I got from Cat. You can see instructions on this post. The sentiment, from Life is Good, was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a fun blog hop featuring Melanie's new set, Square Pegs. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
