Tulip Trio

Oh happy day! this is my first of four weeks as Melanie Muenchinger's guest designer and I am super thrilled to be sharing another project using her new stamp set, A Year of Flowers.

I used the tulip stamp for this card. I colored the images with Koh-i-noor pencils and blended the colors with odorless mineral spirits. I heat embossed the flowers with clear embossing powder.

There is some very light sponging around the white oval, then a layer of basic black, cut using my scallop nestabilities die cutter. The pink layer is Pink Pirouette, heavily sponged with Pretty in Pink. I was tempted to add some gems to this card, but the flowers are so pretty, I didn't want to distract from them.

On the inside I used one of the fabulous quotes from Say it With Flowers, Melanie's other new set. I love having so many great sayings for the insides of cards.

To see another project I made, be sure to visit Melanie's blog .

Thanks for visiting. I hope your day is wonderful!

I especially love the spongogn you did on your pink layer to spotlight your scalloped frame, just gorgeous! your STEMS look so 3D! (so do the tulips of course, but I always pay more attention to the blooms than the stems, I need to go the extra mile and give my stems more attention...;)

(there's that Pink Pirouette again... haunting me...looks awesome with Pretty in Pink, too...how much longer til I buy it??)

Have a terrific weekend!
